Journey to the past with OFC Creations and Emily Beseau as we experience one of the most enchanting stories of all time.
Students will learn songs, dances and scenes from the hit 1997 film and Broadway musical “Anastasia.” Most importantly, the class will explore the history and storytelling techniques used in both the film and musical.
The story follows the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, who claimed that she escaped the execution of her family. Years later, an orphan named Anya hopes to find some trace of her family by siding with two con men who wish to take advantage of her likeness to the Grand Duchess.
The class will conclude with a showcase, featuring group songs, dances, and scenes from “Anastasia,” and each student will have a solo piece. The program will include a piano accompanist for students to practice and perform. Students do not need to audition for the program.
***On Saturday, January 25th at 2PM our students will attend a professional performance of Anastasia at RBTL’s Auditorium Theatre. This will include the chance to meet the cast. Discounted tickets to the performance will be sold separately, siblings and parents are invited to join us.
